10 by Marion Bataille : Pop up book

10 is the new pop up book by Marion Bataille recently published by Tate Publishing.

10 explores the nature of counting. Imagine counting to ten with your fingers and then back again, we normally see one number as we count but we're actually forgetting the negative / mirror number on our fingers. So three becomes eight and four becomes seven. Bataille shows this thought process by using the pop up technoque to blend from number to number in a seamless way.

The book comes in a rather nice red box sheath and is a very solid and satisfying thing to hold as you flip through the pages.
