"For the past 10 years I've been drawing almost exclusively on the computer. I lost interest in drawing freely with my hands, drawing on a computer somehow felt more natural to me. Then I bought an iPad and was looking for ways to make it useful. I started fooling around with a drawing program and a stylus, and it was surprisingly fun. The outcome is this exhibition, featuring portraits, landscapes, animals, abstract images, typography and all sorts of things that I like. The exhibition was originally shown at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid in October 2012."

Black Sabbath's 13 Ad emerges from old fly posters
Wow! I love this new set of advertising for Black Sabbath's new album!
The ads are appearing on advertising spaces across Copenhagen, the effect of layered fly posters ripped apart to reveal the Sabbath ad was simulated by glueing layers of old posters together and carving the holes by hand.
"For some time, we had been fascinated by the almost endless layers of posters that cover our city walls," says Morten Ingermann, CEO of McCann Copenhagen, the agency responsible. "What if we dug our way through them. Imagine what we could find?"
Amazing stuff!

ZXX Encrypted typeface - A typographic response to the surveillance of the NSA
This inspiring work was created as a response to growing concerns over privacy on the internet and spying by governments, in particular the NSA.
The typeface ZXX has been 'encrypted' to stop stop big brother's prying eyes.
I love the idea behind this design, the relevant questions it raises about privacy and the spying conducted by government's across the world. This is a symbolic project, not intended to become a real tool against spying, but another way of raising the topic to the fore and getting people thinking about what is more important. Privacy or security? And can you really have either?
Read more about ZXX here.

Peter Cline - Ocular Anecdotes
Here's some great work that you can help bring into the real world!
Peter Cline is hoping to create a collection of his comics called 'Ocular Anecdotes', with a little help from people like you! "I’m hoping people like yourself who might have an interest in my artwork would help me to print ‘Ocular Anecdotes’, by pre-ordering the work. There are also lots of different artworks and goodies you can also get by pledging different amounts. If you’ve never heard of Kickstarter, its a great website & funding platform for all different types of creative people." Click here to read more, and to fund the project. |
